To All HSOP Alums and APAA Members: TIME IS SHORT!
Get Your Tailgate Parking Pass ASAP
Time is running out to get parking passes for tailgates and access to the HSOP Building. You KNOW you want to be able to park 500 yards from the stadium and assure yourself of the use of HSOP restrooms and student lounge during football games this fall. That parking lot is behind the Walker Building and convenient for attending the pharmacy tailgates, which you also don't want to miss. For those who don't know, you have to be a member of the Prescription Club to enjoy these benefits. The yearly fee is $1,250, which includes your parking pass. In this case, that's a lot of bang for your buck, and remember that $1000 of your fee counts as a tax deductible gift. You can get more information and renew or join the Prescription Club by calling either Jimmy Harris at 844-8352 &
harri31@auburn.edu or Eva Dyba at 844-8287& dybaeva@auburn.edu.

HSOP Faculty Step into New Leadership Roles at APAA

Dr. Brent Fox recently elected President of the APAADr. Jared Johnson, new VP of the APAAFor whatever reason, it's not every day that HSOP faculty members and alumni follow the leadership train all the way back around to the APAA. But this year, it  happened. Not one, but two faculty members assumed top positions in APAA: Dr. Brent Fox was elected President and Dr. Jared Johnson was elected Vice-President. We've very proud of them here at HSOP, and we see every sign that they will be outstanding officers just as they were outstanding students here, and later professors. As trends change so quickly, any organization's new leadership will have new challenges to meet. These two are wasting no time meeting theirs. They are actively about the business of trying to accomplish some positive changes for all APAA members. So stay tuned for future announcements. We salute Brent and Jared for their leadership abilities and willingness to serve. Please join us in congratulating them, if you haven't done so already.

Special Letter from Your New APAA President--MUST READ
Attention APAA Alums, your new president Brent Fox has some very important events to share with you. This is time sensitive material and therefore a must read. He gives details about important events coming up at HSOP throughout the Spring, including your chance to win a football parking pass and an individual entry fee for the Scholarship Golf Tournament. Everyone is excited about the new football season, and Brent provides important information about the upcoming tailgates - in the usual spot, right behind Miller Hall. This is one of Dr. Fox's first official duties as the new "prez," so let's all give him a few minutes of your time today. You'll be very glad you did, because you will be in-the-know and up-to-speed!  And that's a good place to be. In fact, you'll probably want to save this letter for later reference. Tailgate Reunion--AU/Mississippi State Game/1979 Class Reunion

Some Auburn Pharmacists out there think it's high time for a reunion. We're talking about Starr Miller and Barbara and Tommy Hardwick. They wish to invite their classmates to a special event--a reunion of the class of 1979. There's nothing better than an idea whose time has come, and we think this is it! So make your plans to be here for a tailgate/football reunion for the class of 1979 at the AU/Mississippi State game on Sept. 12th. Read Barbara's invitation below and if you need further information, refer to the APAA president's letter above. You may also contact our development team Jimmy Harris at 844-8352 & harri31@auburn.edu  or Eva Dyba at 844-8287 & dybaeva@auburn.edu. They'll be glad to assist you.

Dear graduates from the Spring Class of 1979:

You have been out of pharmacy school since 1979 and it’s time to come back together for a 30th reunion tailgate, which will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 behind Miller Hall on the lawn next to the Harrison School of Pharmacy. Starr Miller and Barbara and Tommy Hardwick are your hosts for this event.  Plans are for an all-day get together around the AU vs. Miss. St. game (game time to be announced).

If you graduated in the spring of 1979, you don’t want to miss this reunion.  Plans are being made now, so make plans to attend!  If you have not heard from us, please send us your email address so that we may update you on the day’s plans.  We have already tracked down some of you and have your e-mail addresses.  Please contact any other classmates you can find.  We want a 100% turnout!!!

Start planning your trip to Auburn and getting your football tickets lined up, if needed. Also, dig back in your old photo albums and send us any pictures you have of the “good ole’ days” in pharmacy school, including graduation day, for a compilation that we’ll try to put together.

If you have any questions, please contact Starr Miller or myself as soon as possible.  See you on the plains!

War Eagle,
Barbara Hardwick

AU/West Virginia Game/1999 Class Reunion
Is it the thought of seeing War Eagle VII swooping over the Auburn fans in the stadium again? Or is it because more of our alums are just lookin' GOOD these days? It's hard to say what's increasing talk of reunions lately. But we think it's a particularly good idea. And did you know that APAA is organizing a tailgate AND 10 year reunion for the class of 1999. Yes indeed! It will be the weekend of the AU/West VA game, September 19. The game starts at 6:45pm and the tailgate, sponsored by CVS, begins 3 hours before kickoff. Contact Brent Fox (foxbren@auburn.edu) if you plan to attend or need more information. Of course, you can also contact either Jimmy Harris at 844-8352 &
harri31@auburn.edu or Eva Dyba at 844-8287& dybaeva@auburn.edu.
