recently incorporated InforMedix's Med-eMonitor and Med-eXpert systems
into its curriculum to teach the role of the community pharmacist in
ensuring proper medication adherence and holistic health management and
consulting. A team of student pharmacists and their
advisors evaluated
patients for potential benefit from the Med-eMonitor smart pillbox and
the Med-eXpert information system, which provides real-time,
customizable, actionable information on the medication adherence and
health status of chronically ill patients. The new systems received
positive reviews from patients, family members and AU faculty.
