About the Program
The residency in Pharmacy Practice at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center is a 12 month training program designed to provide a variety of experiences. It is structured to develop advanced knowledge and experience in pharmacy practice skills, patient care, and practice management.

Residents will be actively involved in a variety of medication use decision processes, including participating in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings, multidisciplinary patient care teams, drug information support, and investigational studies. Residents will be responsible for developing, supporting and implementing patient care programs and providing cost-effective pharmacotherapy. Residents will also assist in precepting pharmacy students from Auburn University and Samford University Schools of Pharmacy.

The goals and objectives of the residency program will follow the ASHP Accreditation Standards for Residencies in Pharmacy Practice and will be taught and evaluated utilizing the Residency Learning System (RLS)

Residency Experiences
Required Rotations
Drug Information, Critical Care, Surgery, Practice Management, Ambulatory Care, Acute Care/Internal Medicine, Purchasing Inventory Control, Quality Management.
Elective Rotations
Infectious Disease, Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Diabetes Education, other electives available
